If you’ve ever tried it, you’ve probably noticed that attracting high-quality, interesting followers who will engage with your content is becoming increasingly difficult.

And that can be frustrating.

Think carefully about who you want to target on Instagram and what that target group wants to see.

If you have a business, include your website in your profile.

#4 Create an attention-grabbing bio

Show your users what to expect on your profile. You can also use your location or a particular hashtag there.

These are posts that reach a lot of people organically. A lot means when the center gets significantly more users than follow the account. There are no exact numbers for this. The Xth photo of you is all well and good. And may also be suitable if you want to become an influencer. But if you want to build a business, then you should offer real added value (for your target group) that helps them and supports them on their way.

Ask yourself: what is bothering you? What keeps them awake at night? What worries and hurdles do you have that you have the solution to?

Remember: It’s not about you. It’s about them.

You may talk about yourself and your experiences, but always keep your followers in mind.

You can also tell them a story about yourself and share your own experience, such as how you solved something or overcame a problem. This is how they can learn from you. The social media world is fast-paced, and it’s far too easy to scroll over a post if it doesn’t grab attention within 1-2 seconds.

How do you do that? Create an easy-to-read post that immediately explains what it’s about.

Use a clear font, no wild backgrounds behind the font, and feel free to use graphics or images for support!

#7 Evoke emotions

Content that evokes an emotional response or feeling is more likely to go viral. This can, e.g., B. be admiration, amazement, worry, sadness, or humor.

Studies show that content that evokes positive feelings performs better than content that produces negative emotions.

So use content that gives your followers a positive ray of hope and shows them, for example, what is possible for them too. Or use humor to show that you know and understand their problems, as you have had them too, or maybe you still have them and how you deal with them. When you show yourself vulnerable, you build trust.

#8 Use a call to action

So, call readers to action. Ask them questions and, for example, ask them to comment or like the post.

Don’t ask, “How are you today?” That’s far too trite.

For example, if you have reported on an experience and insights, ask them whether they have ever had the same experience and how they dealt with it.

Build a connection with your followers by engaging in dialogue with them.

Unlike Facebook, hashtags on Instagram are essential to get more followers on Instagram. Find popular, topic-relevant hashtags and use them repeatedly in your photos. You can use up to 30 hashtags. Try different ones here.

Necessary: They should be popular hashtags, but not TOO popular. Check whether your post appears under the hashtag. If not, you’ll get lost in the crowd, as many larger accounts use it. It’s better to choose niche hashtags where you will also appear.

#14 Like and comment on other people’s posts and follow them.

Use 5-10 minutes daily to leave meaningful (!) comments on other accounts to draw attention to yourself.

You can also achieve the same effect by liking other pictures.

But beware of “If you follow me, I’ll follow you.” These are often inactive and not very high-quality followers who do not benefit you long-term. You can save yourself the time.
